Game Review: PSP's 'Prince of Persia' No 'Revelation'
Prince of Persia Revelations is basically a reincarnate of Warrior Within. That's not to say you shouldn't get it if you have Warrior Within - there are other things that bog this title down.
Prince of Persia Revelations isn't a bad game. For what it's worth it's good. It just depends on how frustrated you'll get with your PSP skipping on you and other issues.

I won't go into the storyline here. But for the most part, the gameplay is the same as it was in the console versions of the game. The Prince can run up and down walls performing several jumps and acrobatic techniques. You'll use these techniques when it comes to you solving many of the games puzzles.

The combat is still pretty fun and satisfying as well. You can hold either one weapon or dual wield, it doesn't really matter. You can perform some devastating combos that allow you to decapitate your enemies, or even cut them in half. The game also slows down and zooms in on these finishing techniques. After a while it does get a little repetative, especially when there aren't that many combos to perform.

Yes, the game really is just a reincarnate of Warrior Within. You'll face the same enemies, do the same puzzles and the story is also unchanged. If you're familiar with Warrior Within, you'll be familiar with this title.

Graphically, the look of the game transfers over quite well. Sometimes it's hard to tell if you can actually see a ledge or not. Since some of them are just lines it's hard to tell if you can grab on to them or stand on them. It leads to death sometimes (trial and error) but it isn't so bad. There are, from time to time, a few pixelation problems and the frame rate also slows down quite a bit.

The biggest problem with the game was the sound. The soundtrack, for the most part, wasn't all that great to begin with. What's worse is how often it cuts out, even during moments of dialogue between characters. It's annoying. Mix that in with terrible terrible load times (as most PSP games suffer from this) and it almost makes the game not worth playing.

However, for what it's worth, the game isn't bad. The music and load times take a huge hit, however, and you can't help the fact that if you played Warrior Within, this game is pretty much nothing but familiar territory.

The Good:
+Visually striking for a handheld
+Fun to play
+Brings back what made Warrior within good

The Bad
-Music and dialogue often cut out
-Framerate problems
-Horrible load times

Final Grade: C
