What's Coming Out? 12/9
Lions and Witches and Oil, Oh My!

Hey kids, hows you all been doing? I've been doing awesome. I couldn't post this little column yesterday cause I was off catching up on movies I had missed, and later today I will be doing the same. So far, I've seen 74 movies that came out this year! Yesterday I got to see Spacemunji, or as most people call it Zathura. It was pretty stupid, but entertaining. There were many times when it had then tendancy to beat you over the head with its message, and that got annoying. I'd give it *** and definately recommend it to anyone who wants to take their kids to a movie. Ok well this weekend we have one new release and one movie expanding, so lets get to it!

The Chronicles of Narnia - The story of Jesus, told with lions and witches and a big wardrobe! I'm not sure how heavy the Christian themes will be in this adaptation of C.S. Lewis' novel, but the marketing peoples for this movie have been pushing it on the Passion of the Christ crowd. The film looks entertaining, but it looks like it might be trying to be Lord of the Rings. That's something no movie should ever do, cause they'll fail and look stupid. Stupid Stupid Stupid! This one looks good though and I'll be checking it out Friday night.

Syriana - Oil, told from the liberal's side. Not that anything being told from the liberal's side is a bad thing, or the conservative's side, they both have the right to argue their points of view. Either way this movie looks like Traffic Part 2 but instead of drugs, this time it's oil. I've been hearing mixed reviews from this one so far, but the trailers make it look intriguing, and I generally like Matt Damon and George Clooney. I'll be checking this one out too sometime this weekend as it looks like it could be either really poopey or really awesome.

Scott's Pick For This Weekend - Either Narnia or Syriana. They both look like they have the potential to be excellent.

Scott Recommends - Walk the Line, Rent, or Chicken Little if you can find it. Jarhead and Zathura will probably be gone this weekend, but they're good too.
